Facebook ads seem different in my news feed

I feel like there was a recent change in the way that ads on Facebook appear in my news feed. On every ad I see, two or three of the comments are expanded. Is this a recent change? To be clear, I'm 99% sure that until recently no comments would be expanded on any ads shown to me - if I wanted to read any comments, I'd have to click on the "XX Comments" link.
I find it annoying in more ways than one, because not only do I try my best to not read Facebook comments on ads (or on other types of posts that are open to the general public - for example, NYT articles), but the ads now take up more space that I have to scroll through!
