What goes into Snapchat Quick Add?

The Snapchat website says it’s based on “who you’re already friends with, who you subscribe to, and more.” What is “and more”? I’m a teacher and several of my students show up in my Quick Add even though my account is private and we likely don’t have mutual friends. How does this work? Can my students see me in their quick add?
