How do I convince my boss to diversify?

Hi everyone.
So, the company I work for is operating in the financial niche, but they want to expand their services to the tech community.
Right now they are only posting news on a daily about our industry, they started testing tech article but they just don't work with finance guys.
I told my boss today that every other media company has dedicated tech profiles, but he gave me some lame excuse why he might not want to do it, asking me to present a business case.
How do I convince him that this should be done in order to keep finance and tech folks seperate?
