What kind of issues do you have if you always vent on social media?

I have a friend who posts about how this sucks and how that sucks. Gets to the point where he swears and calls people names. Always critical and negative. I'm for sure about to block him but why do people do this? It really doesn't look good and is the quickest way to lose your friends.
