9% instagram engagement is a LIE

Hi everyone, i've recently taken over my companies instagram influencer marketing.
I was surprised to see that my predecessor was sending out products to users with a 9% engagement score. It got me to thinking - why is ours only 3/4%, so i did some digging.
Turns out a god instagram engagement score is between 3/4% and those with around 9 are using comment pods and engagement groups.
Now this doesn't necessarily mean its a bad thing - but realistically by working with these 'influencers' you're pretty much being scammed out of your valuable products (since many of them will be part of the same groups) essentially meaning that you are not finding any new users.
I figured this out by looking at some of the highest followed users on the platform - which include Kim Kardashian-West and many other A list celebrities. Their engagement is around 2.8/3%.
So I post this as a warning. Be vary wary of who you work with on Instagram and other social platforms, make sure you do your research on their accounts before working with them. There are hundreds of ways to find out how real their followers are - and you can tend to notice these comment pods a mile away.
