Using instagram to source photography clients

My instagram is pretty strong and active, I post great photos and get good amount of likes and engagement but those are all vanity metrics.
How do I utilize instagram to get new clients, ACTIVELY?
I've considered DM'ing my followers if they need a photoshoot but most of them assume it's free and then some even unfollow me after telling them my rates.
What do you guys do to actively get clients?
