IG ads that use influencer handle, but are for a brand?

When I see IG ads like this, (it uses the influencer's handle but is sponsored by the brand), what am I seeing? It seems like there are several options:
- The influencer boosted this post themselves, either from IG or from Ads Manager. And this would mean the brand compensated the influencer to boost the post? And the brand provided some info on targeting? I've never heard of this happening, but maybe it does. Seems very unlikely.
- The brand has a FB API integration that allows them to run ads using an influencer handle (there are 1 or 2 influencer platforms that do this).
- Something else obvious that I'm overlooking
Anyone have any ideas on how ads like this (using influencer's handle, running a brand ad) are created?
