How to increase engagement with a really picky following?

I’m a woodworker and my Facebook biz page has around 900 followers. I post about once per week with photos of finished projects and they get pretty great organic reach, likes, shares etc.
I know it’s good for exposure to post regularly (once per day or so), but progress pics, for example, get almost zero engagement. I end up deleting them quickly out of paranoia that it reflects negatively on my brand.
Instagram is a different matter. I can just take random photos of stuff I’m doing and people seem to like it.
Does anyone have any advice on this? Whats the most resource efficient way to engage your audience?
