https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
This morning, Pokemon Go developer Niantic announced that despite last year’s troubles, it will once again hold Pokemon Go Fest this year.
Now known as Pokemon Go Fest: A Walk in the Park, the event will take place on July 14th and 15th in Chicago’s Lincoln Park and spans a 1.8-mile walking course this year. Along with new Safari Zone events in Dortmund, Germany on June 30 and in Yokosuka, Japan later this summer, Go Fest is part of a new tour of real-world gatherings for Pokemon Go in 2018.
With several events under its belt since the first Go Fest, Niantic has learned from last year’s problems and is hoping to use that experience to make sure this summer’s festivities all go smoothly. We spoke to Niantic CEO John Hanke to find out why the company is still excited to double down on real-world events, and the precautions being taken to give fans a better experience in Chicago this year.
