More Ways To Crush Meetup . com + Scrapping

🤓 Back in 2015, I got really into data scraping.
I figured out how I could scrape a massive amount of LinkedIn profiles and then verify emails. In fact, my partner and I created some programs to automate the process on a massive scale.
Why?
Because I was a recruiter back then and I wanted to create a curated database of people that my clients could access and reach out to. 💰
Long story short, I became a master at data scraping.
🤦♂The only problem with massive scrapping is that you end up with thousands of verified emails that you can't mass email!
Whatcha gonna do with all that power?
However, you can email them individually and now there are tools to automate "individual" emails.
Over the last three years, I've been seeing people do all sorts of crazy sh%t with scraping. And, I've really kept quiet about a lot of my knowledge in the space. I keep seeing people come up with really complex systems. They work, but most of them are far more complicated than they need to be 😫
Anyhow, since I've been talking a lot about leveraging Meetup, I'm going to give you a quick scraping hack.
If you're looking to make a list of targeted "customers" you can join the right Meetup groups and scrape the members, First and Last Name, with a tool called DataMiner. It's a Google Chrome Extension that you can find in the Google Chrome store. It's free but you will have to pay depending on how much you use it 🤛
📧 Once you have the list of all the Meetup members there are several tools you can use to verify emails. Dux-Soup, Skrapp. io, (this one has changed a bit) but there are tons of similar tools. Just find the ones that work best for you.
Before you know it, you could have a list of targeted customers to reach out to individually, or you can upload the list to Facebook, create a custom audience and advertise to them.
☝ Actually, once you have a list of people and their emails, there are a ton of things you can do without emailing them. I'll post about some cool things you can do with lists down the line.
