How do you engage with new followers? What's an example message you DM them?

I started an apartment locating site in the Houston, TX market and most of my marketing is Instagram. I'm finally getting better about engaging with followers and testing out DMs to new ones. Wanted to see if y'all had any pointers or feedback to what's worked and hasn't worked. I'm thinking a short and sweet message. "Hey (name), thanks for following our page. Were you looking for a new apartment soon?" Any feedback is appreciated.
