Do you need to mention your Facebook absence?

Hi, I just started working for a small business. They had been absent from social media for about two years. Before I start posting on their Facebook page, would you think an explantation for the absence would be necessary? Such as an "sorry for the absence, we were busy making improvements, etc." Thanks in advance!
