Any tips for hosting a successful Social Media Giveaway- Local Small Business

Hi All,
I own a mattress store in Colorado and would like to run a few giveaways to increase our followers/likes and hope to convert some into sales. I have a few premium ($100+) pillows to giveaway. Some of the info online is a bit contradictory (i.e., can or can't run a competition to solicit likes/shares/etc), so I'd like to hear from anyone that's had success.
