Where do you think TikTok sits within the social media hierarchy in 2019?

2 months ago (roughly speaking) TikTok’s downloads surpassed that of Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube for the first time in Sep 2018.
When I randomly asked around 600 people on TikTok why they think it’s better it was simple, it reminded them of Vimeo. Short, sweet videos. Yet I ask, what makes TikTok better than Instagram?
Personally, I think it hands content creators the holy grail video and audio production tools regardless of their niche. None of that “they’ve got filters better than Snapchat or Instagram”, it’s not a driving variable. Whether you’re a fashionista, food blogger or even a tech dude, I think TikTok has opened the gates for users to become super users when it comes to video editing. Which I think is the differentiation point between it and Instagram.
Now I haven’t used it to it’s fullest potential but I do think if they allow cropping of music much more from whichever place in the timeline then that will give them a level up. Also, if they decided to have text (description) incorporated within videos, Christ, that’ll be next level.
